(A further 400 yards on is the excellent Weary Ploughman pub and restaurant on the main road). As well as the pub, the village also has a general store/post office, a butcher and a hairdresser. A short drive takes you to the larger supermarkets and amenities of Brixham, Paignton & Torquay. Agatha Christie’s former home, the captivating Greenway House & Gardens (now National Trust), is just a mile down the road and within easy walking distance for many people.

Jenny Wren is our own family holiday home and we stay there as often as we can. For this reason you can be assured that you will have everything you need to enjoy your holiday, and that the bungalow is comfortable, clean and well cared for, a ‘home from home’ as people say! Having been on many self-catering holidays ourselves, we know what we would expect, and we try our very best to provide all the touches to make your holiday a pleasure. Over a third of our bookings are from returning guests and this is testament to the effort we put in to Jenny Wren. It is always a compliment when people return, so thank you! Due to the success of letting Jenny Wren over the last 5 years, I now feature 7 more bungalows, all of which I know personally. I manage a few of them entirely myself, while for some of them, the owners will deal with their own admin; but I am the contact in the first instance. Sandy beaches are nearby; Broadsands is a mile and Goodrington Sands two and a half miles. The pebbly Elberry Cove is also a mile. Goodrington North sands and Elberry Cove beaches are both open to dogs all year.

Dartmouth is a few miles away via the car ferry from Kingswear, or you can take a wonderfully nostalgic steam train ride from Paignton (or Churston station which is less than a mile from Jenny Wren). The historic town of Totnes is just over 7 miles.

All the bungalows welcome your well behaved dog, with most being accepted free of charge. In fact the area is brilliant dog walking territory, with beaches & miles of countryside to run in from the doorstep. The cracking thing about the area is that you can choose whether you want the relaxing tranquillity of the countryside & river, the fun of the beach, or perusing the shops in any of the surrounding towns.
